재활상담학(Rehabilitation Counseling)
- 본 과정은 장애나 질병을 갖고 있는 사람들에게 양질의 전문적인 재활상담 서비스를 제공하는 전문 재활상담 인력을 양성하는 과정이다. 세계보건기구(World Health Organization, WHO)에 의하면, 세계인구 중 대략 15% (약 10억명)의 사람들이 전 세계적으로 장애나 질병을 갖고 있거나 그러한 장애나 질병으로부터 고통을 당하고 있다. 본 석사 과정의 주요한 목적은 전 세계적으로 보편화되어 있는 장애 관련 사회적 문제나 장애/질병을 갖고 있는 사람들을 위해 양질의 전문 서비스를 제공하고 연구할 수 있는 전문 인력을 양성하는 것이다
Rehabilitation Counseling is focused on helping people who have disabilities achieve their personal, career, and independent living goals through a counseling process. Rehabilitation Counseling can be found in private practice, in rehabilitaion facilities, hospitals, universities, schools, government agencies, congenital or acquired disabiliteis. Over time, with the changes in social work being more psychotherapy-oriented, Rehabilitation Counselors take on more and more community engagement work, especially as it relates to special populations.
